What child doesn’t dream about being a fireman when they grow up?

Fire fighters protect us against and fight the dangerous fires.  Every year fires destroy billions of dollars worth of property and take hundreds of lives.  Firemen respond to all types of emergencies, not just fires, and they should be recognized as the hero that they are.  So when you see a fireman in uniform, go shake their hand and say “thanks!”

And don’t think that this fire fighting career is just limited to men!  There are plenty of fire women out there risking their lives for us every day.  They live in the fire house along side of the firemen and have to perform all of the same fire drills and training.
